The Left Foot of Fellowship by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts Comments Off

And they were so caught up in the here of their life that they were unaware that they were entertaining the presence of angels.

And what did he say?  “He is not here.  He has gone on to Galilee.  There you’ll see him, just as he told you.”

Why do we rehearse the heres of our life?  Why?  Why do we rehearse those things?

Lindsay was telling the story and walking around earlier with Dr. Margaret Idahosa, talking about our son and him dying in my arms.  I want you to know we don’t go to the cemetery.  I don’t go and visit the grave.  I don’t go and put flowers on the grave.  Why?  Because he’s not here.  He’s there.

And the angel, in essence, was saying, “Why are you looking for the dead here?  He’s alive.  He’s risen, just like he said he would.  There you’ll find him.”

You think about what you’re going through now in your ministry, and you think it’s unbearable.  Somebody said something.  Somebody did something.  Somebody upset your apple cart, and you don’t know if you can take it any longer.  And you said, “If I can come to this conference, I’m either going to get help, or I’m going to get out.”

You are just the kind of person that this ministry was raised up for.  The ICBM, the International Charismatic Bible Ministries Fellowship Conference was designed for you—just like you are.  It was designed for ministers who had been hit and hurt and broken and beaten and left on the side of the road of life.  It’s for you.

It’s for those who have been given the left foot of fellowship.  It’s for those of you who have been put out or put on, or dragged out or drawn out.  It’s a place where without any ties you can come in and join.

People Of Faith by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts Comments Off

RR: . . . Bibles to 1 Kings, chapter 19.  Everybody say, 1 Kings 19.  (Response)  And let me read one verse, verse 13, of 1 Kings 19.  “So it was when he heard it that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave.  Suddenly a voice came to Elijah and said, What are you doing here?”

May God add His blessing to His Word, and let us pray together.  Father, thank You tonight, thank You for the deposit of faith.  But not just the deposit of faith, but the knowledge of knowing what to do with it, for having faith is not enough.  Faith must have a corresponding action.

And we are your people of faith tonight, but we desire to be Your people of corresponding action.  Faith without works is dead.  Faith must be verified with an action.  Let us be people of faith, and let us be people of action.

Thank You for it, Lord, and thank You for this Word.  And may it deeply sink into our hearts tonight, and may we never be the same after.  In Christ’s name, and everybody said amen.  God bless you.  You may be seated.

And as you’re seated, I want you to turn to the person next to you and ask them this question, “What are you doing here?”  (Response)  Now the other side, ask them on the other side, “What are you doing here?”  (Response)  Did you get an answer?  Don’t answer that.

In the 1960’s I was training to be an entertainer in Las Vegas and a professional athlete.  And in order to pursue that goal, I left home.  I left the God of my childhood.  I left the godly influence of my parents on my life, and I enrolled in a state university, a public university, a secular humanist university outside of the state of Oklahoma.

And I said, “There.  That will put an end to God in my life.”

I was on track.  I had been offered a contract in the lounges of Las Vegas.  During my high school years, I had been the lead singer in a rock-and-roll band here in the city of Tulsa.  I traveled the state of Oklahoma singing.  I didn’t have time to dance because I was too busy playing for those who were dancing, and making good money each weekend doing it.

The Hour of Healing by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts Comments Off

When she walked in to her mother’s house, The Hour of Healing, our TV program, was on the air.  As she walked into the living room, she heard me say, “There’s a woman who’s pregnant who has cancer of the cervix.  Come over and lay your hand on my hand.  God said, “I’m healing you.?”

She and her mother touched my hands.  The next morning they went back to the doctors.  They had all the tests, all the MRI’s, every test  done again.  The doctor said, “What happened to you?  I can’t find a trace of cancer in the cervix, not a trace.  It’s gone.”  And she had the baby.  Now you say, “That’s out on a limb.”  God is looking for someone who’s not afraid to go out on a limb.

Now I want you to stand up.  I want to do something that may seem very unusual.  I didn’t plan to do this but I feel led of God to do it. I want you to put your hands like this because there has been the most unusual-Brother Green, you’re right, this has been the most unusual anointing.  It’s been in every service.  There is a tremendous anointing right now for the power of God to come into your hands.  How many of you want the power of God to flow through your hands?

Don’t look to me.  I’m just an instrument.  I’m a conduit through whom God uses, but I am not the power source.  He’s the power source. Don’t get your eyes on me.  Don’t get your eyes on my hands.  My hands are just human hands.  But God works through my hands, and as I stretch out my hands and pray over you tonight I’m going to believe and tell you that there is a fresh anointing that’s going to come on your hands.  And you will notice a tangible difference from this hour after we pray.

Now stretch your hands out toward me.  Father, in Jesus” mighty name, I’m going to be obedient to You.  I’ve never done this before with  a crowd in my life.  And, Lord, You know I’m telling the truth.  But I feel led of God to do it tonight.

In the authority of Jesus” name, by faith I touch your hands.  I touch your hands here in this section.  I touch them.  You in this section, I touch your hands.  I touch these in the front just as a point of contact.  I touch your hands.  Here it comes.  Oh, hallelujah!  Here comes a surge of His power. There are hands all over this building that are beginning to get warm. In Jesus” name, I touch your hands.  I touch them by faith, all the way to the top of Mabee, I touch your hands, in Jesus-ah, here comes that warmth.  I feel it just surging through my hands in the authority of Jesus” name.

There’s so many of you who’ve had such a longing to pray for the sick, such a hunger to pray for the sick.  And God has brought you here to enable you to do that.  You don’t have to be somebody special.  I’m not anybody special.  I’m just a normal human being.  I put my pants on one leg at a time.  I’m just a normal guy.  There’s nothing special about me, but there’s something special about the anointing of the Holy Spirit.  And that’s coming on you now.

Now pray this out loud.  Father, in Jesus” name I receive that word.  I receive that anointing.  Speak to me.  Show me.  Impress me, and I will obey.  It doesn’t matter what I think, I’ll launch out into the deep and I’ll let out my prayer for a Holy Ghost catch, in Jesus? name.  Use me, Father, that I might be a blessing.  (Response)

Now just praise Him and thank Him.  It’s happening.  It’s happening all over this place.  Thank You, Father.  Praise You, Lord. Thank You, Lord Jesus.  Now just take advantage of it.  Turn to the person next to you and just begin laying hands on them right now.  Just take advantage of the anointing that’s coming on you now.

Brother Charles, in Jesus” name.  (Tongues)  Praise You, Father. Now lift your hands one more time to the Lord and say, in Jesus” name, I’m in the healing ministry.  (Response)  Did you hear yourself say it? (Applause)

Believers? Voice of Victory by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts Comments Off

And so, we were engaged by that time.  But the Lord had brought me through so many different experiences here, preparing me, little did I know that when I applied for a job at OREA, that a year from that point, I would be actually designing Kenneth Copelands, “Believers? Voice of Victory” magazine.  Little did I know that as I worked on the sets for the hourly specials, that I would be designing Brother Copeland’s first television set.  All of these things, the Lord was preparing me to do what I was to do next.  And all that to say, Oral Roberts University, to me, was a launching pad.  I can remember every day of the time that I was here, and I am, to this day, still living off of the launch that the Lord launched me from this place 28 years ago.  I am still living off of that experience.  Praise God, praise God.

RR: You talk about changing from music.  There are more than 60 different majors here.  Because we must go into all the different worlds that are out there.  We must go into business.  We must go into education.  We must go into science.  We must go into government.  We

must go into technology and computers.  We must go into the world of music, and ministry, and missions, and athletics.  ORU is big in athletics.  So all these different areas are available here at ORU.

I want you to meet Brother Jude Fuquay, who has come to the conference all the way from Seattle, Washington.  He’s a youth pastor at City Church in Seattle.  Give him a big welcome.  He is an alum of ORU.

JF: Good evening.  I know you’re thinking “Fuquay doesn’t match with Seattle,? and it doesn’t, because I’m originally from the bayous of Louisiana.  My family was not a Christian.  And I accepted Jesus Christ, and I was praying one night, “Lord, what do You want me to do with my life?”  I’d heard of Oral Roberts University, but there were a couple problems.  Number one, I only had about $292 in my pocket, and number two, I hadn’t applied.  And I said, “Lord, if you want me to go to Oral Roberts University, You need to give me a sign.”  And this was 18 years ago, before they had satellite television, before they had 100 stations – there were only about 12 stations in the bayou of Louisiana at that time – and it’s one in the morning, and music comes on, and a man comes on the television, and he says, “Something good is going to happen to you today!”  And he says, ? I have great news.”  He says, “We have 50 openings for 50 undergraduate men.”  And he says, “Call on Monday.”  And he says, “Get your application.”  I called on Monday.  The next Monday they called me.  I found a ride, and I drove all the way from the bayous of Louisiana, and I arrived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at 7777 S. Lewis, and when I saw that Prayer Tower, I knew God had met me, and He was going to give me a miracle.

Hour of visitation by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts Comments Off

There is a time to stand up.  Right now our president has appointed 101 judges, and not a one of them can get a hearing before the United States Senate.  And I’m not talking about Republicans or Democrats.  I’ve never gone into a voting booth and pulled a lever marked D or R or I. I’ve never done that in my life. I don’t believe in that.  I believe in voting for the man or woman who is a godly man or woman and also has some ability.

Now look, a mule is not going to win the Kentucky Derby.  ”Well, let me in there.  I’m born again.”  You’ve got to have some ability.  A born-again turkey is still a turkey. …LAUGHTER…  You’d better have some ability.  I mean, when you step up the plate, you’d better be able to swing the bat.

Yes, I want Holy Ghost-filled Christians on all of our athletic teams.  I also want some ability, “cause Paul said,  ”Run the race to win.”

We have unlimited power, and as Americans, I don’t want us to miss our hour of visitation.  There is a saying, and we use it all the time:  Strike while the iron is hot.  Why?  Because if you take the metal out of the fire and you lay it down for an hour or two, you can’t form it and fashion it.  But when it’s hot, when it’s in the fire, you can bend it and you can mold it and you can shape it into whatever instrument it needs to be made into.

And there is a moment, there is a moment right now, when we as the body of Christ have an opportunity to strike a blow for deliverance for the United States of America.

There’s a pastor in Virginia who pastors a church of some 5,000-7,000.  Twice yearly he has his entire congregation stand, and he says to them, “All the registered voters, sit down.”  Naturally, all those who remain standing are the unregistered voters.  And he will bring his ushers to them immediately with voter registration cards.  …APPLAUSE…

The mayor of our city has asked me if I would head up a faith-based summit this fall in our city: prayer.  And this past week I hosted a dinner for pastors and ministers in our city.  People wondered if anybody would come.  We had more than 120 pastors and ministers who came for the dinner, because they’re fed up.  They’re fed up with what’s going on.  They’re tired of elections being won or lost being based on a little chad in Florida.  They’re tired of that.
