And then your dad got sick, and he got discouraged. And you know, he called us one day and said, “Would you pray for me?” And I said And we began to pray, and you prayed and I prayed, and out of my mouth I said, “You are Oral, the healed of the Lord.” And it clicked. That is a statement of faith that we have to understand how Jesus sees us. The

RR: And he received the healing too.

LR: world may see you and your dad was healed. And Amy was healed, by the way. The world may see us as, you know, brown hair or a black jacket or, you know, evangelist, or see somebody as a nurse or How does God see us? God sees us as the healed of the Lord. That’s why He sent Jesus. And we’ve got to recognize that not everybody knows they’re the healed of the Lord.

And I believe it’s our calling to bring healing to people according to what God’s Word says. There’s nothing like seeing a sick person made well. There is no way to describe when you find somebody that’s been sick and God gives them a healing report, there’s no excitement like that.

And I can never see doing anything else with my life except telling people about a saving, healing, delivering God and His Son, Jesus. I can’t imagine every doing anything else.

RR: Lindsay, the healing ministry is what satan hates the most and it’s what the world needs the most. How I thank God for an opportunity to open my heart to believe and to pray. The phone lines have been busy, people calling the Abundant Life Prayer Group needing the touch of God in their lives. If you need prayer, you can call right now and let us know exactly what it is. If you’re receiving a healing tonight, a testimony, call and let us know what God’s doing in your life. I’m not finished tonight. There’s a lot more that’s in me tonight.

LR: While your dad was praying, and then while Cheryl was singing, I went over to

RR: And I want her to sing again in a minute.

LR: to the ladies that are here from Cancer Treatment Center across the

RR: Yeah, there’s another group here from

LR: the way.

RR: the hospital.

LR: There’s a group. And I said last night when we prayed, “I want a surprise report. I want to hear a surprise. I want a good report. I want a surprise tomorrow.” And the tumors that they had been watching and they’ve seen, and they just took more of all of the testing, she said have shrunk down to little tiny like fingernails.

And, by the way, Richard, the person that can hurt you the worst is the person that’s closest to you. We expect the world to do us wrong, but what about another minister? What about another believer? See, that’s what David said. It wasn’t an enemy that reproached me. Then I could bear it. David said, “I expect my enemies to hurt me.”

RR: The world would say you only hurt the one you love.

J: Yes, that’s what the world says, that’s right.

LR: You know, for us to be the body of Christ, if the hand starts pounding on the other hand, it has to hurt worse because everybody in the body gets hurt. You know, if an outsider comes and hits you in the hand, that’s one thing. But when your hand hits your other hand, you hurt all over.

RR: Now what does medical sciences say about offenses? What does medical science say about unforgiveness?

J: Well, medical science literally has found out that there is connected to bitterness and unforgiveness, connected with it is rheumatoid arthritis and cancer. Now not all cases, but it can be. There is actually one medical doctor that I know of that is prescribing the Bait of Satan book to his patients, rheumatoid arthritis patients and cancer.

RR: Are you serious?

J: I’m not kidding. He buys them en masse from our ministry and then actually writes on the prescription, Bait of Satan book, and says to the people, “You have to read this book.” And people are getting healed. See, in meetings God has had me preach on offenses. I’ve preached it all over the world, Richard, for the last four, five, six years. In every service I have preached it, fifty to eighty percent of the people respond fifty to eighty percent in every congregation I’ve been in all over the world! They respond, saying, “I’m holding an offense.”

And in those services we have seen many times people come up to us, saying, “I was healed of this. I was healed of that. God totally delivered me. I’ve believed for years to be healed of this sickness. I’m healed of it.” And there’s a scripture, listen to this, in Proverbs, chapter 18, verse 14, the Bible says, “The spirit of the man will sustain him in sickness.” Now if your spirit is weakened because of offense, if it’s wounded because of offense, it cannot sustain you because out of the spirit, out of the heart flow the issues of life. And so many are poisoned by the root of bitterness. And bitterness is a root. It fuels that sickness in that body.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS How do people respond when you say, “I’m called of God to go to a certain place.” And people say to you, “Well, that’s crazy,” you know.

SPKM ARLIE WHITLOW Particularly where we are they say it’s crazy. Northern Virginia is a very exciting place to live. In fact, you know, I see empty stores and I see empty houses and that’s so strange to us. Where we are the average median income per household is $45,000. People put houses up for sale and within 3 and 4 hours they have four and five contracts on them. So we’re in a very highly developed area. It’s a place where a lot of successful, a lot of high oriented are there.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS A lot of government people live in that area too?

SPKM ARLIE WHITLOW A lot of government people there.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Go across into Washington every day?

SPKM ARLIE WHITLOW Yes. In fact, the people that make Washington work don’t live in Washington. They live in the suburbia areas, either in Maryland or in Virginia where we are. And so I was down praying about our area one time. I said, “Lord, show me the spirit of where we are? What’s happening where we are?” And the Lord showed me that the horse and the rider of our area was that spirit of poverty, the spirit of intellectual pride and also the spirit of materialism. As long as material things are in the hands of God’s people, it’s wonderful. But when material things get in the hands of the wrong people, it produces pride.

So those two spirits are very loose in our area, the spirit of materialism and the spirit of pride. So when we went there and we began to, as it were, knock on doors. I didn’t have any cash

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Just started knocking?

SPKM ARLIE WHITLOW Knocking on doors, handing out fliers. We’ve got four kids and we used them. And we started handing these fliers out and started knocking on doors and telling people about the Lord and saying, “The Lord sent me.” And we got a lot of stares, I mean, we had a lot of funny looks, you know. But the Lord did send us and two years later He spoke to me, of all things, to put up a gospel tent. And

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS A tent?

SPKM ARLIE WHITLOW A tent.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS In, outside of Washington?

SPKM ARLIE WHITLOW Route 7, which is the major arterial source going into Washington, D. C., 45,000 cars a day pass that piece of property. And the Lord had miraculously given me the piece of property debt-free. Now I put this tent up. And it was a big one. It was 50X100. Your dad would laugh at that, right? But the Lord filled it up.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS But it was a start.

SPKM ARLIE WHITLOW It was a start. It was a start.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS SR01 You know, you’ve got to start somewhere, and don’t despise small beginnings. (RR_Zechariah_04:10 )

SPKM ARLIE WHITLOW Amen. That’s one of my favorite Scriptures now. But we put that tent up and the Lord filled that one up. The next year we put it up again and now this year we’ve got a larger tent, seats 2,000 people. It’s a big 80X140. And I am here to horse-collar you and bring you to Northern Virginia for a crusade.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Now I’ve never been horse-collared, at least not lately.

SPKM ARLIE WHITLOW Well, I don’t even know what that is, but I’m after you, you know.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS I appreciate that. We’ll be praying over it. Arlie, I know that one of the first contacts that you had with the Oral Roberts Ministry was through the paralysis of your sister when she was 12 years old and the dramatic miracle. Can you share that testimony?

SPKM ARLIE WHITLOW Yeah, really, it’s a powerful thing. You know, we have appreciated the ministry of Brother Roberts for a long, long time. My sister when she was born, she was born with, she was an infantile paralytic. And she did not walk until she was 10 years of age, and this was back in 1948. Your daddy was holding a crusade in Goldsboro, North Carolina in a B-29 hangar. And I remember it because

We witness a lot in just the example we set because every hotel that we stay in, every team that we play, you do get to talk to the players. A lot of people think we have chapel every morning and we are forced to do these things, you know, and we have to give money and things like that. And it’s really, I guess good PR almost for ORU when we have somebody like us that can say, “No, it’s not really like that. ORU is a really neat place to go to school.”

And aside from the beautiful campus and everything that’s around us, the academics are great and the teachers are more than willing to go out of their way to help us, especially as athletes, because we miss so much. It’s not strange at all for people to have good grades as on, you know, a lot of other college campuses. I lived in a town that had a college and it was the average to make C’s and it was the average. But everything here is above average, and that’s one good thing that I like about ORU. Everything here is just a little bit above average and everybody tries just a little bit harder, I think.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Thank God for Oral Roberts University, and I’ll be sharing a little SU04 bit more about that later. Arlie Whitlow is my special guest today. He is a minister from the Washington, D. C. area. Arlie, good morning. God bless you. We welcome you to Tulsa. Arlie, before we begin to talk, I just got word while you were watching that story from the ORU girl–and I’ve got something in my eye. I’m going to get that out in a minute, Lindsay–while she was giving that report on ORU, she’s one of our Lady Titan basketball players–yeah, I’ll get it out in a minute–we got this word from the word of knowledge that I gave earlier in the program when I was in the Prayer Group with you, holding that soap.

SPLR LINDSAY ROBERTS I remember it.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS There was a word of knowledge that the Lord gave me and it came through the Abundant Life Prayer Group just a few moments ago. This is Mildred Chandler calling from right here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. “Praise God, Richard, for your ministry. I’ve had a terrible time for several weeks getting around due to arthritis in my knee. This morning, just now, you had a word of knowledge when you and Lindsay were up in the Prayer Group, a word of knowledge about someone being healed in the knee. I knew it was me. All the pain left immediately. I am completely healed. My husband is one of your prayer partners with the

Abundant Life Prayer Group and we really believe in your ministry. Thank you again. Thank you for being on television. Thank you for being there.” (Applause) Hallelujah] Thank God for Him confirming His word with miracles and signs and wonders. Arlie, you minister in one of the suburbs of Washington, D. C., in the Virginia area. You started with 35 people. Your church has now grown, more than 500 people. How did you get started in the ministry?

SPKM ARLIE WHITLOW Well, I’m the son of a pastor and dad’s been in the ministry now some 50 some odd years. And we’ve always been in the deep South and South Carolina and that area, Georgia area. And then the Lord led us through Bishop Meares, who is my pastor and has been for a long time, he kept asking me to come to Washington, D. C. and I knew that was the flesh, that couldn’t be God. If I’m going to go anywhere, I’m going to go South, not North. But the Lord did lead us and He did in fact lead us there and we started. And we didn’t know a soul there in that whole area, with the exception of one elderly man down in Vienna. But I had the word of the Lord and He sent me there. We started knocking on doors. And what has happened since then has been a phenomena.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Lindsay, I know that, I know that as people get this film they’re not only going to be deeply touched, but very moved as they see the dramatic story of this little boy Davie and his courageous fight against tuberculosis and how the healing power of God comes into his life and into his family’s life and how their lives are completely turned around. It’s a story that although this film was made in 1952, it lives on. And of course everybody has a neighbor like Mrs. Hackett.

SPLR LINDSAY ROBERTS I have to tell you what that reminded me of because it just IL01 quickened my mind when I saw that. Do you remember when we were ministering in South Africa and there was a precious little boy who had, I can’t think, I think they called it Perthes Disease and he called it “the Perth.” And this little boy was never able to run, never able to play, never able to do anything. And the mother began to tell the really tragic story of this little boy’s life. And the little boy was healed in the service and began to run and play. And the newspapers just went berserk with criticism. And when they finally asked Richard, “How can you stand up there and do all this?” And all Richard said was, “Just ask the little boy.” That’s how I feel about that film. You just ask the little boy.

When you see a child of God healed, this film will tear your heart out. It really will, because it’s the story of a little boy who had tuberculosis and the trauma that that family went through and how he was healed. And, you know, whether you agree or disagree in what you believe and don’t believe, you just ask the little boy.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS A miracle settles the issue.

SPLR LINDSAY ROBERTS That’s right.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS If you’d like to have your own copy of this magnificent motion length, full-length motion picture, Venture Into Faith, all you have to do is pick up your telephone, call the Abundant Life Prayer Group. Sow a seed on your credit card of $100. Or sit down and write me a letter, Richard Roberts, and send a Seed-Faith gift of $100. And later in the program I’m going to be showing you what your seed is going to be doing here at ORU this summer, as well as other things.
I’ll only be offering it this month on the television program. And of course we’ll be sending you your certificate of authenticity, signed, numbered and dated by my father Oral Roberts. Yesterday I was talking with a man here in Tulsa who said, “When are you going to show SU02 some of your Korea crusade on the television program?” And I said, “Well, I did this past Monday and Tuesday.” He said, Well, I didn’t get to see it.” And so I was telling Lindsay about it last night and she said, “Well, Richard, there are a lot of people who probably haven’t seen it.” So I think I’ll take you back to Korea and let you see exactly a portion of what happened while I was there. I was ministering in Dr. Paul Yonggi Cho’s church, the largest church in the world.

The opening night we had some 50,000, the second night 60,000. I preached to 110,000 people in two nights while I was in Korea. I just returned this past week. And so right now, let me take you to Korea and give you just a little taste of what happened while I was there. And this is the discussion that Dr. Paul Yonggi Cho and I had right after the crusade closed. Just watch this. CHO AND RR ROLL-IN

SPKM ORU STUDENT SU03 It is a lifestyle here. And you have to adapt to that lifestyle and you have to, you have to become part of ORU. You can’t just go here and be on the surface. You can’t go here and be half into it and half not because when you come here you’re associated with everything that is here. Self-discipline on the court is really especially a very important thing because you get out on the court and people are watching you, not only as a basketball player but also they’re watching you as an ORU student and they’re watching you as a Christian because of everything that ORU represents.

SPKM BARBARA WALDEN PRYM In the name of Jesus I come to you this morning because God spoke to me last night and said, “When you do that show tomorrow morning, I want you to reach out and tell the people out there that time is running out. There is a Jesus and you must come to him. Don’t think because you’re successful and you have everything for you, believe me, the money is not going to get you to heaven. The awards will not get you into heaven.” I thought my awards would get me into heaven but you have to be born again as a Christian. And I come to you with all sincerity today. Jesus, please, Father God, reach out for us. I feel today there is someone there now. I feel right now there are women who are listening to this program right now, and there are men, who are saying, “I don’t need Jesus. I’ve got it all.”

Father God, I ask in the name of Jesus, touch them right now. Touch the ones who are listening to this program. Let them know that all of those material things are not going to get them to heaven. Like you father said, “God says he’s not against you having money, but just not praise money, just not put money first.” You must put God first and I pray…. I lost a friend who was 38 years old who died on the plane Thursday. She was of the Jewish religion and I disobeyed God because God said to me, “Go to Judy. Tell Judy she’s got everything in life financially, but tell Judy to come to God.” I started to pray with Judy.

Lord knows I prayed. I prayed about four times with her but then I stopped because she said, “Barbara, please don’t put this one me.” And I thought: Well, I can’t do this. I disobeyed God but, Father Jesus, this morning I come to you. I will never disobey you again, Father, knowingly. I am going to go forward from now on, Jesus, and I’m going to praise you to everyone no matter where I go. God, I will talk about you and I will praise you. Thank you, heavenly Father. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Now I add my prayers to Barbara’s prayers. You feel the Spirit of God coming out of her as she gives her own witness and her own testimony. Are you ready to meet Christ? If you are, then pray this prayer out PRRR loud with me as everybody here prays this prayer out loud with me. O Lord, be merciful to me, a sinner, a backslider. I’ve missed the mark in my life and I realize it. I am sorry. I repent of my sins. I turn my back on it. And, God, I ask you to forgive me. And right now I receive your forgiveness. I renounce the devil and his grip on my life and I take Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. Save me, Lord. Heal me, Lord. Deliver me, Lord.

Set me free, Lord, in Jesus’ name. From this moment forward I will be a new Christian, a new person, changed. The Holy Spirit is in me now. Jesus is in me now and I’ll never be the same again. Friend, if you meant that prayer from your heart, and I believe you did, Jesus has entered your life. The past is forgiven. You say, “How is that possible?” The Bible SR02 says if we confess our sins, he, God, is faithful and just to forgive your sins and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. (RR_1_John_01:09 ) He has been waiting for you to pray that prayer. He has been waiting for you. Barbara, Lindsay and I affirm your prayer in that we have made up our minds that we are going to tell people about Jesus no matter where we go. I have just returned from a tremendous week in Korea well, in those service I preached to more than 110,000 people. Many people were won to Christ, many healings, and I have made up my mind I am not ashamed. The Apostle Paul said, Lindsay, “I am not ashamed of the gospel for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone” man, woman, young person, boy and girl, Jew, Gentile, Arab, Buddhist, Shintuist it makes no difference. I am going to talk about my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Lindsay.

SPKM JOHNNY JOHNSON You have no choice. You can forgive them providing that you recognize the fact that as long as you do not forgive them, you have just tied yourself to that person that you don’t like for the rest of your life and that meant, of course, that that person controls your life from now on out. You get ready to buy a suit of clothes and if you think about that person who is going to criticize your suit, you won’t buy the clothes. If you’re a lady and you want to fix your hair a certain way and you know that person is going to be critical of that, you won’t fix your hair that way even though you like it that way. So that person from that point on begins to control your life. And whatever happens to that person happens to you. If that person goes to hell, you’re going along with them.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS But, Johnny, I’ve been discriminated against all my life. Everyone has called me names all my life and there’s no way for me to get out of this little one-room room that I’m living in. My children are on dope and they’re out on the streets and I can’t control them and everything has gone wrong, and this is supposed to be a great country but here I am and what can I do about it?

SPKM JOHNNY JOHNSON I’ll tell you what you can do about it. I always carry a pencil with me and if you take a look at this pencil, you’ll notice there’s something very different about this.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS It has two erasers.

SPKM JOHNNY JOHNSON Two erasers, okay. So if it has two erasers that means that the life of a person that says, “I can’t do anything,” all these things then his life is like this pencil. There is no point to it. (APPLAUSE) And it says here, life without Jesus Christ is like this pencil; there is no point to it. So that person needs to know Jesus Christ immediately and they will have a point to their life, that he can always come back to that. And Jesus Christ is love. And if that person cannot find love in his heart for everyone, then he cannot accept himself because most people dislike themselves and they have a guilt feeling over that. Someone will always say, “Gee, I don’t like the way that I look.” That’s because of the fact that he’s not accepted what God has given that person. Always use all the available resources that God has given you and you will have a point in your life if you accept Jesus Christ. But it doesn’t matter… see, discrimination is not that person discriminate; you discriminate yourself. If you will say, “I know that person is going to discriminate against me cause I’m black,” you’ve chosen to be discriminated against. But supposing you say, “I know that that person is not going to discriminate against me cause I’m black and beautiful,” so that person can’t discriminate against you. I’m too pretty. (APPLAUSE) And if you say that to yourself, you’ll believe that and nobody is going to make you feel bad about it because of th fact that someone called you a name or called you black or whatever they may call you. You will look at them and say, “Thanks for the compliment. I didn’t think you would ever notice.” And so you’ve moved on from one to the other. It’s the most beautiful life I’ve ever had in my life. I even had that when I was the Assistant Secretary of the Navy. There was an admiral and he didn’t know that I was black and all of a sudden we landed in my big aircraft and I had four stars on that and always the senior person steps off first. So I stepped off first and all of these Navy admirals were standing there waiting when I stepped off and they just looked past me. I said, “Hi,” and they said, “Hi,” and I walked on and I stood over there by myself. And the next person came off and they kept looking and finally my aide, who was white, he walked off. So when he walked off of there they said, “I thought the Secretary of the Navy was coming.” So he said, “He is here.” And he said, “Well, where is he? Is he still on the plane?” He said, “No, that’s the one standing way over there.” And he looked over and he saw me and he came over and he said, “Sir, I sure don’t want to see my fitness report when you get back to Washington, D.C.” And I said, “No, I forgive you for just what you’ve done.” He said, “Can you please forgive me?” I said, “I forgave you when you did that because, you see, if you had only looked at my spirit and the love that I gave in a handshake, then it wouldn’t have mattered whether I was Assistant Secretary of the Navy or not. You would have greeted me. So I want to tell you that I forgive you and love you.” And you know, this guy stood there with tears running down his cheek and said, “What manner of man are you?” (APPLAUSE) And I said, “I love Jesus.” And he says to me….. so, you see, I could have chosen to be angry. I could have chosen that and that guy did everything that he possibly could…. that was on Guam at the time…. he had everything laid out for me and he came back to my quarters every hour: “Is there anything else, Mr. Secretary? Anything. Whatever it is..” And then my aide looked at him and said, “Sir, I’d sure hate to be in your shoes.” He said, “I sure hate to be in my own shoes right now.” It’s all because of the fact that I treated him that way. When I got ready to leave, he was the man to stand in front and I got the highest commendation from the United States Navy that has ever been given to a civilian high executive person, and he said, “I want to be the one to present it to him because he’s one of the greatest men that I’ve ever seen. He really practices the love that he talks about.” (APPLAUSE)

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS That’s what the world will say.

SPKM DON STANLEY I was witnessing — some called me crazy, some called me fanatic, but when Jesus calls me they can call me gone. I know I’m going to heaven. Glory to God. They took me out of that cell. They sent me to another prison…medical ward. A Christian psychologist — happened to be a Christian — the lady examined me, she walked back out to the ward and said, “Don Stanley hasn’t gone crazy, he’s just been filled with the unspeakable joy of the Lord. You can turn him loose on the compound now.” That night they gave me a bed among 1,000 inmates that were lost and on their way to hell without Jesus. And I said, “God, if you’ll send me a Bible I’ll be your witness, I’ll share Jesus with other people.” He had called me at 12 to be a missionary, and I wouldn’t go. I ran from him — 22 years — like Jonah did. I said, “I’m in love with Jesus and I want to win souls with Jesus Christ.” And I said, “Lord, give me a Bible and I will study it this time to show myself approved.” I woke up at 2:30 in the morning, the presence of Jesus all over me.

Poems were flowing out of my system, and I’ve written 33 poems, but I started back towards the bathroom and there was a 55 gallon trash can there, Richard, and we don’t where those Bible that you take into Africa and Ethiopia ever go, but we know that God is faithful and true, and when he plants his Word it’s the most powerful word under heaven and earth. And it will never pass away. But there in a 55 gallon trash can there was a little light shining out.

And I looked in, a prisoner walking in darkness that night without the help of God’s Word. And I tell people in America the light that was shining out was much brighter. This little Gideon New Testament Bible was laying in the top of that trash can, open to the third chapter of John. And I picked it up. And it said — thank you Jesus for your precious word, it is a lamp unto our feet, the light unto our path. It is the bread of life to he who believes. I went in and sat down in that bathroom that night and read John 3:16, — for God so loved the world — an old sinner like me who had a wicked heart, on cocaine, drugs and alcohol — that he gave his only begotten Son Jesus, that if I would believe in him I wouldn’t perish but have everlasting life.

I got down and reaffirmed that salvation that night and asked God to fill me with his Spirit — started going to a little Methodist chapel in the prison, 6 nights a week, and there had communion with the Lord. Jesus was a friend who would stick with me closer than a brother. (APPLAUSE) Seven months later they called me up to the warden’s office and said, “Don, you’re getting ready to go home, you’ve received a pardon.” I said, “Sir, I was pardoned on May 12, 1983, when the blood of Jesus washed me clean.” He said, “Yes, but you’re going home.” He said, “You take Jesus with you, he’ll never be back in a prison like this.” And I ask you in America today, come back to Jesus, come back to the Word of God. They took me that day and they were — I was singing, “I’ll Fly Away, Oh, Glory, I’ll Fly Away, like a prison bird from a cage, I’ll fly away.”

Friday night, Saturday night. Friday night. (LAUGHTER)

I don’t know, they are going to be with me one of the nights. I’ll be there both nights. And it goes on from Friday night to Sunday noon on Easter Sunday. And you’ll get the meet the students and the faculty and I’ll be there. And, oh, I’m expecting great things to happen during that college weekend seminar. We’re expecting a tremendous crowd of young people. And if you are interested, pick up your phone and call 1 800 331-5568. Is that right? That’s 1 800 — that’s a free call — 1 800 331-5568. April 17, 18 and 19. The college weekend seminar. And when you get on this campus, (APPLAUSE) when you get on this campus it will be just like this song that the ORU Singers and Orchestra and I want to sing for you right now, “You Are Walking On The Edge Of A Miracle.” Praise God.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS

SPKM ORU SINGERS SONG You_are_walking_on_the_edge (APPLAUSE)

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Don’t change the channel. Stay tuned, here is a message just for you. (APPLAUSE) AD02 Cheryl Prewitt Salem’s Take Charge of Your Life VHS aerobic video for a gift of $25 (APPLAUSE)

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS I’ll tell you, Cheryl can talk. She can explain this better than I can. Except I want to tell you that this has been a tremendous blessing to me. And even our little Jordan likes to get down on the floor and do these exercises. It’s more than an aerobics tape, as Cheryl just said. It’s filled with the Holy Spirit. I have never heard of anybody doing a Holy Spirit filled aerobics workout for people across this nation. If you would like to have it all you have to do is sow a seed of $25 or more, and be one of the thousands, I mean thousands who already have this tape. You can write me, Richard Roberts, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Or you can pick up your telephone right now and call the (Abundant Life Prayer Group) at area code 918 495-7777, and sow a seed on your Mastercard, your Visa, your American Express, your Discover card, of $25 or more, and let me know that you want “Take Charge Of Your Life” with Cheryl and friends. A woman said to me the other day, “Richard, if I had known I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself.” Well, you can take care of yourself, of your physical body, and allow all of Jesus that is in you to come out. And this tape can be a blessing to you. (APPLAUSE)

So many people have video cassette recorders and are calling now and saying, “Please send it to me.” So sow a seed of $25 or more and let me know that you want it. And you can be one of the thousands who have already received this beautiful aerobics tape. Here is a call from Newton, North Carolina, “I called for prayer because I had a lump on my breast the size of an egg. Two doctors confirmed this and sent me to a surgeon to have it removed.” Now listen to this. I called the (Abundant Life Prayer Group) and the prayer partner and I agreed that the surgeon would not find the lump when he got in there.” Now you know, the world would tell you you are crazy, but I want you to know I believe in the good work of prayer, and I believe in the good work of the doctors working together. “On the way to the doctors I could still feel the lump in my breast. And while I was sitting in the office of the surgeon, waiting for him to examine me, I suddenly felt the presence of God’s healing power all over my body. Then the surgeon came in and took me into the examination room and examined me. And the lump that I had just felt was gone.” (APPLAUSE)

Now listen to this. This is real. “The surgeon looked at me and read the confirmation by the other two physicians and said, ‘Whatever was there before is now gone. You need no surgery.’ And I want to praise God for the healing.

What do you do when the attacks of life come? Do you get into despair? Do you focus on your inability to solve your problems, or do you focus on God‘s ability and His faithfulness to bring you through?

Don’t Discount a Miracle

In 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, the apostle Paul speaks personally and gives us a picture of the dreadful problems he was going through when he said, We are troubled on every side, yet we’re not distressed; we’re perplexed, but we’re not in despair; we’re persecuted, but we are not forsaken; we’re cast down, but we’re not destroyed.

In other words, Paul was saying, “The attacks of life come to all of us. But when you’re hit, don’t give up and don’t get into fear. No matter how big or how bad the problem is, God is bigger! Stand strong in your faith and declare, ‘My God will deliver me!’”

Isn’t that what Moses said when he stood at the edge of the Red Sea, with Pharaoh’s armies chasing him from behind? He said, Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord (Exodus 14:13).

Moses and the Israelites were surrounded by trouble on every side. There was a roaring sea in front of them and a whole army of Egyptians thundering down on them from behind.

It seemed as if there was no way out, but God brought a great miracle. He divided the waters of the sea so the people could walk across on dry land!

And in the midst of whatever problem you’re facing, God can do the same for you!
