People of Substance by Lindsay Roberts

Lindsay Roberts Comments Off

Mama said, “No, you get on the airplane and you go with Richard.”

But Richard had already had shots, and he was on his way over there.  And I’m home hemorrhaging.  And I had just come from us burying our baby.  And the Holy Spirit spoke to me, “Get on the airplane and go to Nigeria.”

And I said, “Good.  Because then I can go to Nigeria and die over there and no one will know me.”

But this precious lady here named Margaret Idahosa came up to me, and she sat me in her home and she cooked chicken—and I’m a vegetarian.  And this woman cooked me chicken.  And every time I said, “But, Margaret, I think I’m going to die,” she would say, “No, baby.”

I didn’t feel like a baby.  I felt like a failure.  And she’d say, “No, baby.  No, baby.  You go back.  You go back and try one more time.  No, baby.  No, baby.”

And as soon as I got home, I finally had the strength to say, “Okay, one more time.”  And so you saw my Jordan up there being prophesied over.  That’s Margaret’s baby.  Her name is Jordan Lindsay Ann, but she’s Jordan Lindsay Ann Margaret Idahosa Roberts.

You be careful who you attach your anointing to.  Be careful what you do with your substance, because people will either move with you, or they’ll choke it out of you.

Charles and Barbara Green, Cindy.  My Chloe Elisabeth Ann Roberts, satan has tried to kill that baby more times than I can tell you.  And from the day she came out—Barbara, where are you?  This little lady that won’t even stand up, come here.  These people have never missed a birthday.  They’ve never missed a car wreck.  They have never missed Christmas.  They have prayed over my baby and prayed over my baby.  Get up here, you big baby.  And prayed over my baby and prayed over my baby.  And they are the godparents.

Now they know my Chloe.  Chloe, my father-in-law said the day she was born, “That Chloe Elisabeth, she will talk with her eyes,” and she does.  Sometimes good and sometimes you’d better say, “Okay, let’s rethink that.”

And let me tell you something, Oral, from the day she was born, called her Oral Roberts in a dress, because she has a very special and unique substance and unique anointing.  And from the day she came out, this family has prayed over her and prayed over her and prayed over her and prayed over her and never missed a day praying over her.

His riches in glory by Lindsay Roberts

Lindsay Roberts Comments Off

Now I want to ask you a really, really serious question.  How many of you in this building have been sick recently, put your hand up.  Be honest.  Be honest.  How many of you have sickness or disease going on in your body?  How many of you know people in your church with sickness and disease?  Stand up.

Now how many of you don’t have enough money to do what you need-too much month at the end of your money?  How many of you have not got enough money to do what God’s called you to do?  Stand up. Now the only people that I’ve asked to stand up are the sick and the poor.  Now look around the room.  Christians are the sickest, poorest bunch of people in the world.  We’ve got it all messed up.  Jesus came so we’d be healed, and He came to give us life and life more abundantly.

And He said He’d supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, which means walls made out of jasper, gates made out of pearl, streets made out of gold.  And here we are sick and broke. And yet we tolerate the spirit that brings it.  And so instead of casting the spirit out that’s created all this mess, we tolerate it and cast the devil out of each other.  And many times we’re casting it out, when it’s not there.  And we’re bringing it in when we shouldn’t be, and we don’t know the difference.  So I’m going to teach you the difference.  Now you can be seated.

I’m going to combine this message with the “L? word.  Everybody turn to your neighbor and say, “Oh, oh, neighbor, she’s preaching on the “L? word,? the difference between the world, w-o-r-l-d, and the word, w-o-r- d is one “L,? w-o-r-d and w-o-r-l-d.  So what’s the difference between the word and the world?  The “L,? one “L? separates us from the word and the world.  So what in the “L? do you want?  What is so important to you about the letter “L? that will take you out of heaven’s gates and put you into eternal damnation for the rest of eternity?

Why do we tolerate Jezebel in the church and beat up on each other?  We don’t wrestle flesh and blood.  We wrestle powers and principalities and rulers of darkness and spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places.  Not!  You know as well as I do, we wrestle each other.  We backbite each other.  We’re ugly to each other.  We don’t forgive each other, and that’s when we act good.  While Jezebel is ripping our guts out.

The blessing of Abraham by Lindsay Roberts

Lindsay Roberts Comments Off

Remember the woman who was bowed over eighteen years? He said, “Ought not this woman who is a daughter of the Abrahamic blessing…”  Ought not this woman who is in the lineage of Abraham be loosed?  Shouldn’t this woman who is born of the seed of Abraham be loosed.  If you’ve got the blessing of Abraham, He’s saying, you don’t live in this condition.  If you’ve got the blessing of Abraham, you’re not supposed to be broke.

If you’ve got the blessing of Abraham, you’re not supposed to be bent over all these years.  If you’ve got the blessing of Abraham, you’re supposed to be the head and not the tail, looking above and not beneath. And He loosed her. Some of us have got to get loosed today.  CHEERS

You’re bound to the spirit of Jezebel and bound to the spirit of traditions and bound, oh, my God!  What are people going to think?

Who gives a rip?  They think it anyway.  CHEERS  It’s time to get over that.  APPLAUSE

I remember every time-my father was a car dealer.  We were blessed.  My sister liked the apples at the orchard next to us, and my dad didn’t buy the apples.  He bought the orchard.  My family was blessed.  My mother’s sitting right there, always tells everybody, “I’m God’s favorite.”  She thinks she’s teacher’s pet.

Well, you know what?  She is because she thinks she is.  ”As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”  But we had material goods running out our ears.  But then I married a preacher.  LAUGHTER  And I took it all off, and I hid it.  What would people think of me?  And I hid it for probably twenty years-been married almost twenty-two, twenty-three years. And I was ashamed of my blessings because people wrote things in the newspaper.  I wore a wedding band, just a little tiny wedding band, tiny.  You know I took everything off because I didn’t want all these terrible articles.  And I had one article written in Colorado that said, “Lindsay Roberts came to the service dripping in gold.”

Honey, if that’s dripping, you’re poorer than I think.  LAUGHTER  And so that really made me hide everything.  And a couple of years ago, Pat Harrison came up to me and she said, “Where are your gifts.  You’re not using your gifts. And God’s ashamed of that.”

And I went, Okay, gift of the Holy Spirit, the gift of tongues, the gift of interpretation.  She said, “Ah, ah, ah, ah.”  She said, “God has given you material gifts, and you no more get them in your hand than you give them away because you won’t wear them because you’re ashamed of them because you think more about what people say than about what God did for you.  And God is sick of it.”  APPLAUSE

The Healing Ministry by Lindsay Roberts

Lindsay Roberts Comments Off

RR: Sue, what is happening in the Abundant Life Prayer Group?

SUE: Well, have you ever heard of crying pain?

RR: Well, yes.

SUE: So bad.

RR: Yes, that it makes you cry, almost writhing in pain.

SUE: Yes.  Elizabeth in Paris, California had that kind of pain. And God has healed her, and she’s going to share her testimony with you this evening.

RR: Okay.  Hello, Elizabeth.

E: Hello.

RR: How are you tonight?

E: Oh, praises God, I’m healed.

RR: Where is Paris, California?

E: By Riverside, toward Riverside.

RR: Okay, I know where it is.  Tell me now, Elizabeth, what’s happened?

E: Oh, praise God.  I come last night from visiting my son.  I had this excruciating pain in my back for over a year, no relief.  Laying down it would pain, sitting up, anywhere. I couldn’t get much sleep at night.  I didn’t know how to lie.  I’d put pillows, it would relieve very little, but nothing’s gone.  I mean, it was just horrible.  I couldn’t do anything.  Standing up it would hurt; laying down it was just excruciating pain.  I would cry from the pain.  I didn’t know what to do.  I prayed but, you know, nothing happened.

So last night I came from my son’s.  I went in my room, and I put Channel 23, I said, “I know Richard and Lindsay, their ministry is for healing.”

Anyway, I put you guys on, and it was almost over.  You said, “Back healings.”  And I said, “Holy Spirit, speak to Richard now about my back.”  And as I said that, you said about the back being healed.

RR: Right at the end of the program?

E: Yeah.  And I felt this warmth come over my body, not realizing what was happening.  But it felt so good, I never felt nothing like this in my life.  It was so comforting.  I just wanted to lay there and stay in that, just like that, oh, not realizing that the pain was gone.

Then after a while, I was like coming to myself, and I said, “Oh, my gosh, the pain is gone.”  I said, “Wait. Is this possible?  Could this be that God could heal?”  And I’m sitting up and lying down and standing and trying all ways for that pain, and I could hardly move.  There was no pain.  Richard, it was gone.

RR: It’s completely gone?

E: Completely gone.

RR: Is it still gone?

E: It’s still gone.

RR: Still gone tonight.

E: Yes.

RR: After twenty-four hours it’s still gone.

E: Yes, it’s still gone.

RR: Oh, we give God praise.  We give God praise.  Elizabeth, thank you for calling.  Give the Lord a great praise.

RR: Join me in welcoming the Chairman of the Board of Regents of Oral Roberts University, our good friend, Marilyn Hickey. Marilyn, yea!  Every time you come on, Marilyn, there is a rush of God’s healing power.  You are in the healing ministry.  I love it when you come on because you always pray for people and we always have God confirm His Word with signs following.

M: Well, that anointing fell on me from the head of this ministry, you know.  You know, the anointing that’s on the head comes on the body.  It’s on your father, on you, on me, on the student body.  So we just are one.

Yield to Jesus by Lindsay Roberts

Lindsay Roberts No Comments »

Okay, what is devouring you? Aim your seed against that need and say, “Father God, this, this, this, and this is devouring me.  I plant my seed, and I am expecting a harvest in that field exactly as I plant.”

You know, I plant seed.  ou know I do. You know I like a garden. But if I’m going to plant a tomato seed, I’m going to expect a tomato and not in my neighbor’s garden. I’m going to expect a tomato in my field where I planted my seeds.

We’ve got to treat God the same way. As we sow our seed, we aim our seed to defeat a need and we say, “Father God, I will not be robbed of my harvest because I’m a seed sower,” in Jesus’ name.

RR: Lindsay, I’m learning how to make my life a seed, my love, my time, my prayers, my money, my smiles.

LR: You have a Bible right to do that.

RR: Everything. I’m looking at this program as a seed. I’m investing a seed into people’s lives tonight. I’m looking to God to open me those windows of heaven and pour me out blessings. That’s why ORU, our ministry, is tithing ten percent of every dollar that comes in as income into our ministry. I am doing it and I am expecting God. I’m focusing it.  Like you said, Lindsay, I’m aiming it against a need for a desired result in my life and the life of this university and this ministry. It’s a way of life with me. It’s scriptural.

That’s what my dad was talking about. And it’s time for people to begin to believe that as they sow their seed for God to meet their needs in the way the Bible says. Let’s do it.

LR: I am looking at Y2K.  I am not looking to this person or that person. I am looking to God to supply my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. And when He wrote that scripture, you know He wasn’t worried about Y2K.  He knew exactly what He was doing.

RR: It wasn’t even Y1K yet.

LR: No, your father has a sermon, the whole sermon is titled “It,” it. The whole sermon is on the revelation of two letters it from Luke 6:38, “Give and IT shall be given unto you.”  Whatever it is you give, IT shall be given unto you.

RR: Let’s stop focusing on Y2K and let’s move it to Y2J, yield to Jesus. Yield to Jesus. Instead of Y2K, let’s focus on Y2J.
