Our Faith by Lindsay Roberts

Lindsay Roberts No Comments »

And if you look at a Daniel fast, it’s fruits and vegetables and nuts and seeds, and there’s a reason why.  And I know this may sound really ridiculous to you and it may sound like Lindsay is off-the-wall fanatic, but the Lord spoke to me one time and He said, “Will you please learn how to eat?”  And I had energy all of my life.  I mean, I could eat the table and still be thin. And yet I realized, “Well, God, this is so strange because I have no side effects of eating.”

And the Lord said, “You are doing your temple wrong.  I told you how to eat.”  And I thought, “Where?”  For some reason, I’d missed the fact that it was in the Bible.  And I want to encourage you to get the Bible and see what it says about herbs, see what it says about fruits, see what it says about vegetables, see what it says.  You know, in the Bible the word “chicory” means “the liver’s friend.”  Now if God cared so much to make a liver, then He cared enough to make something that would sustain it.

If you are experiencing any form of eating disorder, I believe it’s an attack of satan and I believe there’s a Bible way for you to use common sense.  Go study the Bible.  Go study healing nutrients in the Bible, and find out what God says.  I believe if He made our bodies, He made it to operate properly. And there really is a biblical way to do it. And I just want to encourage you, don’t get discouraged. Don’t get all put out and don’t get worried and say, “God, I’ll never be able to do it right.”  Yes, you will, in Jesus’ name. Let me say this to you, don’t panic.  Don’t get into guilt and condemnation.  Right now don’t get into condemnation.  Take that junk and tell satan that’s a trap from him and to take it back to the pits of hell where it came from.  Food is not your source, God is your source.  And God can teach you, if He has to do it supernaturally how to sustain your physical body properly.

RR: And we’ll set our faith in agreement with you if you’ll call the Abundant Life Prayer Group.

Hour of Healing by Lindsay Roberts

Lindsay Roberts No Comments »

RR: This is your hour of healing coming to you from the campus of Oral Roberts University.  Father, I give You praise and glory tonight for Your healing touch.  Thank You, Lord, that Your arm has not been shortened to save, to heal, to deliver, and set people free from the crown of their heads to the soles of their feet.  Thank You, Father, for the anointing of God upon Lindsay, upon me tonight, as we minister in the name of Jesus.  Not in our name, but in His name, whose name is above every name named in heaven and earth.  Lindsay, in Jesus’ name I pray it.  Amen and amen.  This is healing night.  I’m expecting healing in the lives of people tonight.

LR:I agree.

RR: And I have some testimonies to share.  This is from right here in Tulsa from last night.  I gave a word of knowledge last night about an ear being healed, and here is Irene calling from Tulsa. “I was listening to your program.  I got a healing from a word of knowledge, through a word of knowledge that you gave concerning an ear opening, and the ear is healed.  This comes from Alpharetta, Georgia.

LR: Where is that?

RR: Now the call comes from Alpharetta, but this is a person who is in the hospital here in Tulsa with cancer.  They’re at the Cancer Treatment Center here in Tulsa, in the hospital with cancer in the spine and the bone.  Apparently they were watching last night in the hospital.  I gave a word.  I prayed over cancer.  You remember, I gave a word about cancer in the bone last night.  And Cheryl got out of the bed apparently and was able to bend over, the first time she’s been able to bend over since April, and literally touched the floor.

And, Cheryl, in the authority of Jesus’ name, I set my faith in agreement.  I’m believing that that’s the start of the miraculous touch of God in your life in the authority of Jesus’ mighty name, and I set my faith in agreement.  Lindsay  and you may feel like praying for others who have cancer right now.

LR: We’ve had people come over from Cancer Treatment Center

RR: And other hospitals.

LR: yeah, and from other hospitals.  There’s another lady here. We were praying I’ll tell you, we were praying and having such a good time last night, I said, “Let’s have a party.”  So they were going to go back to the hospital and say to their other cancer patient friends, “We’re having a party in healing,” you know.  Did you do that?  Yes.  They’re going yes.  You see, in the name of Jesus, you don’t have to let your circumstances talk to you; you begin to talk to your circumstances.  The cancer should not be talking to you.  You need to talk to the cancer.  And the Bible says in Mark 11:23,24 that we speak to our mountain, and then in quotes they told us what to say.  Jesus said, “Speak to your mountain and command it to be cast into the sea, and do not doubt in your heart, but believe the things that you say shall come to pass.”  So in the name of Jesus, we speak to cancer right now.

RR: Right now.

LR: We command it to be thou removed

RR: Yes.

LR:  and be thou cast into the sea.  We do not doubt in our hearts, but we believe the things that we speak according to God’s Word will come to pass in Jesus’ name.  Cancer, you wither and die.  Healthy cells, you raise up in Jesus’ name.  I speak directly to outlaw cancer cells and I command them to cease and desist.  Stop it.  That’s enough, in Jesus’ name.

RR: Hallelujah.

LR: I rebuke it, and the word rebuke means stop it, that’s enough. Cancer, stop it.  That’s enough.  And in Jesus’ name, I speak to your physical body, and according to the Word of God I tell your physical body to be made whole in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

RR:I agree

LR: Amen.

RR: I agree with that prayer.  What have you got, Steve?

STEVE: Richard, we have John from Orlando, Florida, a praise report of a healing that came in last night.  John is on the phone if you’d like to talk with him.

RR: A Vietnam veteran?

STEVE: A Vietnam veteran.

RR: John, can you hear me?

JOHN: Yes, I can.

RR: Hello, John.  Are you in Orlando?

JOHN: Yes, I am.

RR: Were you watching the program?  What happened?

The Greatest Scripture by Richard Roberts

Lindsay Roberts No Comments »

SPKM CLARENCE BOYD I was probably the first student who was from that denomination at Oral Roberts University.  Today you probably have anywhere from 5, 6, or 7.  Oral Roberts continues to draw from our denomination young people who are interested in the charismatic movement.

SPOR ORAL ROBERTS Of course, the important thing here is that no matter where you are from as a faculty member, an administrator, or as a student, you are in a charismatic university built on the Holy Spirit and the authority of God and we’re trying to break down all these walls of separation  IL01 and be human beings, be people of God.  I remember Ben Gurion said something to me, Richard, when I was with him just before he died.  He was the first prime minister of Israel and I had a group of ORU students visiting him in Israel and I asked him what he thought was the greatest scripture in the Bible and right there where the Bible was written in the Holy Land the prime minister of Israel, Ben Gurion, said to me, “The greatest scripture in the Bible is the scripture in Genesis where it says, ‘And God made him man.’”  He didn’t make him Jew, he didn’t make him Gentile, he didn’t make him black, white, red, yellow.  He just made him man.  (APPLAUSE) Man, man, a human being. And if there is one thing standing out here, Dean Boyd, it is that human beings are at Oral Roberts University and we sit down and we get together and we love each other and we get our education.  We keep our burning as we get our education.  Now say that a different way, Richard.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Well, I always tell people that ORU is the university where I got my learning but kept my burning.

SPOR ORAL ROBERTS Now that’s the way to say it.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS I’m a graduate of ORU.  And while the ORU Singers are getting ready to sing right now, I want to say to you as a parent or as a grandparent, or as an aunt or uncle of someone who is interested in ORU, or as a young person who would like to attend ORU, there are still a few spaces available for the fall semester coming up in August.  We begin our fall semester around the last week or so of August.  All you have to do is pick up your telephone and call the Abundant Life Prayer Group at area 918-495-7777.  Now when you do, they will ask you some questions that will facilitate us to get information to you such as your social security number, your year of high school graduation, whether you just graduated from high school or whether you are transferring from another school, your grade point average, your SAT or ACT scores, whichever are the ones you need for ORU.  We can help you.  And there are scholarships available in some categories so don’t let the lack of funds turn you off on trying.  Call us and let us know.  There are still a few spaces available for the fall semester. Right now the Oral Roberts University Singers are going to minister one of the greatest gospel songs ever written, “How Great Thou Art.” (APPLAUSE)

SPKM ORU SINGERS  SONG How_great_thou_art  (APPLAUSE)   AD02 PROMO for RR’s Album, “I Am Determined” for a Seed-Faith gift of $10.  (APPLAUSE)

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS You can have your own copy of my brand new album, “I Am Determined,” or the cassette, “I Am Determined.” All you need to do is sow a seed of $10 or more into this healing ministry for everything we’re doing for God.  There you can see it on your screen now.  Ask for the album or the cassette.  Just say, “Richard, please send me the album, or the cassette.”  Write me:  Richard Roberts, Tulsa, Oklahoma, or in Canada:  Richard Roberts, Toronto, Ontario.  Or you can sow a seed-faith gift on your credit card by calling the Abundant Life Prayer Group at 918-495-7777.  There is the number on your screen right now, and I will rush the tape or record album immediately to you.  Just let me know which one you want and we’ll put it into the mail. We were talking about the upcoming fourth annual Oral Roberts Ministers’ Conference in association with the Charismatic Bible Ministries Fellowship this next June and I thought it would be most appropriate for you to hear one of the most unusual testimonies that has come out of this past year’s conference.  My special guests today are Steve and Denise Vickers from Montgomery, Alabama, pastors of Christian Life Church. (APPLAUSE)

Secretary of Navy by Richard Roberts

Lindsay Roberts, Richard Roberts No Comments »

SPKM JOHNNY JOHNSON You have no choice.  You can forgive them providing that you recognize the fact that as long as you do not forgive them, you have just tied yourself to that person that you don’t like for the rest of your life and that meant, of course, that that person controls your life from now on out.  You get ready to buy a suit of clothes and if you think about that person who is going to criticize your suit, you won’t buy the clothes. If you’re a lady and you want to fix your hair a certain way and you know that person is going to be critical of that, you won’t fix your hair that way even though you like it that way.  So that person from that point on begins to control your life.  And whatever happens to that person happens to you.  If that person goes to hell, you’re going along with them.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS But, Johnny, I’ve been discriminated against all my life.  Everyone has called me names all my life and there’s no way for me to get out of this little one-room room that I’m living in.  My children are on dope and they’re out on the streets and I can’t control them and everything has gone wrong, and this is supposed to be a great country but here I am and what can I do about it?

SPKM JOHNNY JOHNSON I’ll tell you what you can do about it.  I always carry a pencil with me and if you take a look at this pencil, you’ll notice there’s something very different about this.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS It has two erasers.

SPKM JOHNNY JOHNSON Two erasers, okay.  So if it has two erasers that means that the life of a person that says, “I can’t do anything,” all these things then his life is like this pencil.  There is no point to it.  (APPLAUSE)  And it says here, life without Jesus Christ is like this pencil; there is no point to it.  So that person needs to know Jesus Christ immediately and they will have a point to their life, that he can always come back to that.  And Jesus Christ is love. And if that person cannot find love in his heart for everyone, then he cannot accept himself because most people dislike themselves and they have a guilt feeling over that.  Someone will always say, “Gee, I don’t like the way that I look.”  That’s because of the fact that he’s not accepted what God has given that person.  Always use all the available resources that God has given you and you will have a point in your life if you accept Jesus Christ.  But it doesn’t matter… see, discrimination is not that person discriminate; you discriminate yourself.  If you will say, “I know that person is going to discriminate against me cause I’m black,” you’ve chosen to be discriminated against.  But supposing you say, “I know that that person is not going to discriminate against me cause I’m black and beautiful,” so that person can’t discriminate against you.  I’m too pretty.  (APPLAUSE)  And if you say that to yourself, you’ll believe that and nobody is going to make you feel bad about it because of th fact that someone called you a name or called you black or whatever they may call you. You will look at them and say, “Thanks for the compliment.  I didn’t think you would ever notice.”  And so you’ve moved on from one to the other.  It’s the most beautiful life I’ve ever had in my life.  I even had that when I was the Assistant Secretary of the Navy. There was an admiral and he didn’t know that I was black and all of a sudden we landed in my big aircraft and I had four stars on that and always the senior person steps off first.  So I stepped off first and all of these Navy admirals were standing there waiting when I stepped off and they just looked past me.  I said, “Hi,” and they said, “Hi,” and I walked on and I stood over there by myself.  And the next person came off and they kept looking and finally my aide, who was white, he walked off.  So when he walked off of there they said, “I thought the Secretary of the Navy was coming.”  So he said, “He is here.”  And he said, “Well, where is he?  Is he still on the plane?”  He said, “No, that’s the one standing way over there.”  And he looked over and he saw me and he came over and he said, “Sir, I sure don’t want to see my fitness report when you get back to Washington, D.C.”  And I said, “No, I forgive you for just what you’ve done.”  He said, “Can you please forgive me?”  I said, “I forgave you when you did that because, you see, if you had only looked at my spirit and the love that I gave in a handshake, then it wouldn’t have mattered whether I was Assistant Secretary of the Navy or not. You would have greeted me.  So I want to tell you that I forgive you and love you.”  And you know, this guy stood there with tears running down his cheek and said, “What manner of man are you?” (APPLAUSE) And I said, “I love Jesus.”  And he says to me….. so, you see, I could have chosen to be angry.  I could have chosen that and that guy did everything that he possibly could….  that was on Guam at the time…. he had everything laid out for me and he came back to my quarters every hour:  “Is there anything else, Mr.  Secretary? Anything.  Whatever it is..” And then my aide looked at him and said, “Sir, I’d sure hate to be in your shoes.”  He said, “I sure hate to be in my own shoes right now.”  It’s all because of the fact that I treated him that way.  When I got ready to leave, he was the man to stand in front and I got the highest commendation from the United States Navy that has ever been given to a civilian high executive person, and he said, “I want to be the one to present it to him because he’s one of the greatest men that I’ve ever seen.  He really practices the love that he talks about.”  (APPLAUSE)

Make Your Day Count with Lindsay Roberts

CH: Yes, we have.

BK: And we have talked about how do you find your place in God?  And if you’re in that 100 percent pursuit of the kingdom, you’ll know.  You know, the Bible says, “The steps of a good man are ordered.” And so if you’re in pursuit of the kingdom, you know when you’re still on God’s path.  Something in you, that anointing in you, it leads you.  The Bible says we have an unction from the Holy One, an anointing.  It leads you into truth.  You know even when God is just messing with you a little bit to lead you into that promise.  And we’ve had this—

CH: Well, sometimes people get to where they’re so determined that somebody else’s gift is so much better than theirs, that their peace is not that important.  And we don’t realize that when we fulfill what God has called us to do, we function in that.  A lot of times it’s a lot easier than trying to fit a mold that doesn’t fit us.

BK: And that’s what produces the anointing.

LR: Square peg in a round hole.

BK: And that’s what produces the supernatural out of you.  That’s what brings forth the miracles.

LR: Remember the scriptures throughout the Old Testament where much of the battle did not happen until the worshippers went first.  It’s very clear that worship opens the door, clears a pathway, if I can say it properly, opens that pathway when there is going to be spiritual warfare.

Listen, you get in the pulpit and know there are people in your audience that may be demon possessed, there may be people that need healing, people that may be suicidal, people that may be depressed, and you have that locked in your brain and you’re getting ready to prepare the place.

Now forgive me for saying this and, no, it was not at their church.  Let’s preface that.  I was sitting down one time, and I’m telling you, it was not worship.  It was, excuse me for saying it, it was funereal.  And a guy stood next to me, and he turned to me—now I am trying my best to keep face.  I’m the preacher, and I am trying.  The guy leans over to me and says “When do we view the body?”

And I tell you something, you can feel the tmosphere damaging what God was trying to do because they were trying to show off their performance.  And it wasn’t working.  But when you are in your place, in your anointing, in your gifting, not only—I’m really sensitive in the fact that I believe worship does open that door—then you can walk in and do whatever God needs to do in that service.

BK: Well, let me brag on Pastor Shane and Christy for just a minute.

LR: Shane is her husband.

BK: Shane is her husband.  One of our dear friends is Marilyn Hickey.

LR: Yes.  She literally is like a mother to me.

BK: She is.  I think she’s a mother to the whole body of Christ.  And, Marilyn, if you’re watching, we love you for that.  She told us one of the things she loved about Pastor Shane and Christy, she said, “I love your prophetic sense to fill the atmosphere.”  And, I’m telling you, that’s where the miracles are.  They are literally just supernaturally bringing you in the praise and worship dimension.  I’m telling you, they have been largely the instrument of helping to produce the anointing in the church.  And we so love them for that because we’ve seen people healed.  I mean—
