And I also believe that this ministry is a ministry of prayer. And we just got a large group of prayer requests. Now I want to tell you, if you go to the book of Malachi—I’ve been kind of on that a lot lately—where it says, “Bring your tithe and offering into the storehouse.” And as you bring your tithe and offering into the storehouse, God will open you the windows of heaven and He will pour out a blessing where there’s not room enough to receive it, and—I love this part—He said He would rebuke the devourer for your sake.

So here’s the big tough question. Satan walks around as a roaring lion, the Bible says, seeking, hunting down, looking for whom he may devour. All right, if he walks around as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour, and then you sow your seed into the storehouse and you bring tithe and offering into the place that you’re being ministered to, then God says, “I am going to open you the windows of heaven, pour you out a blessing and rebuke the devourer.”
What’s the connection there? Well, when satan comes to devour you, he said he’s seeking, he’s looking for whom he may devour. While he’s doing that, God is saying, “Hold on, hold on. These are seed sowers. These are people who are in covenant with Me concerning tithe and offering. I, God,” He said right there, “I’ll rebuke that devourer for your sake.”
So satan is going to come and try to attack you. He’s going to try to do whatever he can. He’s going to seek out the particular group that he can go and attack. But if you’re a seed sower, the Bible says right here as you bring tithe and offering in and you sow your seed and you have that seed in the ground, then God opens you the windows of heaven, pours you out a blessing, and he goes after that devourer. He’ll go after satan for your sake, the Bible says.
Then it goes on, and He said, “I’ll rebuke the devourer for your sake. And he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground.” When He says the word rebuke, it means, “Stop it! That’s enough!”
When you sow your seed, while satan’s running around trying to devour you, God looks down from heaven and says, “That’s my seed-covenant partner, and I’m going to rebuke you, devourer, for my partner’s sake.”
God keeps score. He knows and sees everything. Now I know that people want us to stop what we’re doing and say that we’re not going to sow seed and, “Oh, I can’t afford to sow seed.” That’s a lie of the devil. Satan wants you to stop sowing seed so that he can devour you. But God wants you to sow seed, and then He’ll go rebuke that devourer for your sake.
Now we’ve got to learn, wow, that’s a lot to swallow! But either we get on God’s system and get God’s answer, or we continue to do it on the devil’s system. And guess what? He devours us.
I have been a faithful seed sower all of my life, that I know of. I can remember as far back as my childhood when my mother taught me about Seed-Faith from a man named Oral Roberts. I can remember when my daughter Chloe-Chloe’s 18 now—and when she could hardly write, I mean, she could hardly spell, she brought me—I think it was, I can’t remember, it was just a little tiny handful of change, a little handful of change. It might have been ten or twelve cents. It was a little bit of change. And, honest, she wrote a note to her dad for me to give to her father, “Daddy, here is my tide,” t-i-d-e, not tithe, t-i-t-h-e.
She couldn’t even spell the word tithe, but she had an understanding that out of her allowance she had to sow tithe and offering or she was dishonoring and disobeying God. And as she sowed her “tide,” God would rebuke the devourer for her sake. Now she’s 18 years old, and she still sows seed.
And I believe that satan wants us to withhold our seed. He robs us of our seed so he can rob us of our blessing. He cheats us out of sowing seed so he can cheat us out of the harvest. And if you’re not in God’s covenant of sowing seed and tithe and offering, which is required of God—the tithe is the tenth off the top. And, you know, when you sow your tenth off the top, that word tithe actually means increase. It’s tithe which is tenth off the top, right off the firstfruits, the Bible calls it.
When you sow that, that word suddenly changes to the word increase. God knew—just like my friend said earlier—I had a friend of mine call me and say, “God doesn’t need my money.” And she told me she was sending me a check. She was actually sowing a $750 check into the ministry. And she said, “God doesn’t need my money.”
And I said, “Okay.” But she said, “I need to sow. God doesn’t need my money. I need to sow so that God can rebuke the devourer for my sake.”
God walks on streets made out of gold, walls made out of jasper, gates made out of pearl, the Bible says. That’s what heaven is made out of. He doesn’t need my money. He doesn’t need your 37 cents. He didn’t need Chloe’s twelve cents. What He needed was something to work with in obedience to honoring God with tithe and offering so that when that devourer came, He could say, “Stop it, devil! That’s enough!” That’s what the word rebuke means. It means, “Stop it! That’s enough!”
So as you bring your tithe and offering in, you have a right to go to the kingdom of God and say, “Father, I am asking You to rebuke the devourer and say, “Stop it! That’s enough!” for my sake.
And the rest of it says—I love this part—he said, “He will not destroy the fruits of your ground, neither shall your vine cast its fruit before its time in the field, says the Lord of hosts. All nations shall call you blessed.” And get this. “You shall be a delightsome land.” How would you like every time someone comes to your house, they say, “Isn’t she delightful? Isn’t her home delightful? Aren’t her prayers delightful?”
I’ve seen the difference of people calling in, and I mean this—we get calls constantly over depression. There’s a big difference in depression and delightsome. There’s a big difference. But when you sow your seed unto God and you release that seed out of your hand and God has something to work with, He’ll open the windows of heaven, He’ll pour you out a blessing, He’ll rebuke the devourer for your sake, and people will see you as a delightsome land.
(Reading names) And, by the way, in the name of Jesus, we stop right now and pray about the fire condition in California. And we ask You, Father God, for divine intervention right there, right now. We thank You, Father, in Jesus’ name.
